When a knee needs to stay straight, this is the one. Aluminium stays down both sides and the back keep the joint stable, while two velcro straps above and two below the knee lock in a reverse pattern for an even hold.

An elastic band over the kneecap and a three-layer PU foam fabric with a soft towel lining keep it comfortable against the skin. Use it as your doctor or physiotherapist advises.

Measure: Circumference around the lower thigh, about 13 cm (5 in) above the centre of the kneecap.

1. Bend the knee slightly, to about 30 degrees.
2. Wrap a soft tape around the thigh about 13 cm above the centre of your kneecap.
3. Keep the tape straight around the back of the leg and read it in centimetres.

1. Place the brace behind your leg with the knee centred on the opening.
2. Fasten the straps above and below the knee across the front, firmly but comfortably.
3. Stretch the elastic band over the kneecap and fasten it with the velcro.

• Hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent.
• Dry flat, in the shade.
• Do not iron, bleach, tumble dry or dry clean.
