All the ankle-up squeeze of the below-knee pair, carried past the knee to the thigh. A silicone-lined top band grips lightly so the stocking stays where you put it instead of rolling down by lunch.

Measure: Thigh circumference, about 13 cm (5 in) above the centre of the kneecap.

1. Stand with your knee very slightly bent.
2. Wrap a soft tape around your thigh about 13 cm above the centre of your kneecap.
3. Keep the tape flat and level, snug but not tight, and read it in centimetres.

1. Slide your hand into the stocking and pinch the heel from the inside.
2. Turn the stocking inside out down to the heel.
3. Step in, settle your heel, then ease the fabric up the leg a little at a time.
4. Finish with the silicone band flat on the thigh and no wrinkles anywhere.

• Hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent.
• Dry flat, in the shade.
• Do not iron, bleach, tumble dry or dry clean.
